It is with mixed emotions that I
write this column this month. Many of you know that my daughter,
Danielle Cowan, has been my right hand for the past five years.
Her title was Accounts Manager, but she did much more than handle
client accounts. She added innovative time and money saving procedures
to our business. She expanded our distribution and she acquired
numerous national accounts.
Danielle gave me notice the week of Mother’s Day that she
was taking a sabbatical to plan her wedding and take a honeymoon.
While I’m happy for her and her fiancé Ed, I must
admit that things have been a bit stressful in her absence and
it’s only been two weeks. It’s funny how you just don’t
realize how much you depend on someone until they are not there.
That being said, we have some great new team members that showed
up just before Danielle took leave. Many of our advertisers will
remember Susan Cotton Kassem who was our accounts manager until
about five years ago. Susan and Danielle were two ships passing
in the night and worked briefly together. Welcome back Susan.
In addition to Susan coming back on board, Shawna Barnes-Gunot
has joined our team as well. While we make this transition, I
must tell you how very much I appreciate all of our advertisers,
readers and distributors patience with us reorganizing our telephone
system to accommodate the new on site and off site staff members.
Good Luck Danielle - Best Wishes for your marriage. We’ll
miss you.
